Community Events
About
Through supporting our local community with events throughout the year and sharing the word of Jesus we aim to enable an environment of positivity, caring for each other and living a life full of purpose and goodness towards others. Creating a community that is welcoming to all.
See Forthcoming Events and Calendar for full details and latest dates.
Community Supper Club
Community Supper Club is an informal gathering for the community to share a meal made by the St Leonard's team and enjoy a vibrant evening of conversation and fun! Our third event was attended by our 60 people and a huge success. Look out for adverts on social media, St Leonard's website for the next event, everyone is welcome!
Lenny's Memory Cafe
Lenny's is a recently created hub based at St Leonards, providing social and well being care for people with dementia and their carers, through music, simple games and a variety of activities.
Lenny's will start on the 3rd of October. Initially it will operate on alternate Thursdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Family Friendly Film Nights
A first for St Leonard's and a wonderful evening was had. Activities, refreshments and film in our beautiful church. Look out for our next one!
Forest Outdoor Church
This will be outdoors, as the heading suggests, and aimed at young families and children. It will include informal worship and activities with a focus on nature such as listening to the sounds of nature, the patterns of nature, the colours of nature and developing our senses. More information will be available later.
A small group of people will be needed to run this 6 or 12 times a year. As it grows and gets established my aim is to encourage adult participants to take on more responsibility for running events with Church members present as facilitators to maintain a Christian focus.
If you would like to know more and would be interested in participating please contact David Pycock: stleonardssherfield@gmail.com
Benefice Walk
Once a year the benefice offers the opportunity for the whole community to join a guided walk to each of the churches in our benefice, with bacon rolls at the beginning and a BBQ at the end. This is a great social event for all to join and enjoy each others company and explore our beautiful countryside and churches.
